Peter Grünberg (* 18. May 1939 in Plzeň; † 7. April 2018 in Jülich) was a german physicist, and Nobel Prize in Physics laureate. He was 78 years old. He had 3 children. His education included Technical University of Darmstadt, Goethe University Frankfurt and University of Cologne. His faith was Catholicism. He received 10 awards, including Order of Merit of North Rhine-Westphalia, Knight Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
