Richard Owen (* 20. July 1804 in Lancaster; † 18. December 1892 in Richmond Park) was a britischer Anatom, Biologie und Paläontologe. He was 88 years old. His education included University of Edinburgh, Lancaster Royal Grammar School and Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. He worked at Hunterian Museum and Natural History Museum. He received 10 awards, including Pour le Mérite for Sciences and Arts order, Fellow of the Royal Society. He was buried at St Andrew's Church, Ham, London.
