Biography of Rudolf Kassel

Rudolf Kassel (* 11. May 1926 in Frankenthal; † 26. February 2020 in Cologne) was a deutscher Klassischer Philologe. He was 93 years old. He studied at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. He worked at Freie Universität Berlin, University of Cologne and University of Würzburg. His awards include Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, honorary doctor of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Honorary doctor of the University of Oxford.
