Biography of Siméon Denis Poisson

Siméon Denis Poisson (* 21. June 1781 in Pithiviers; † 25. April 1840 in Sceaux) was a französischer Physiker und Mathematiker. He was 58 years old. He had at least 3 children (1 son and 2 daughters). He studied at École polytechnique. He worked at École polytechnique, Bureau des Longitudes, Science Faculty of Paris and École Spéciale Militaire de Saint-Cyr. He received 5 awards, including Copley Medal, Lalande Prize. He was buried at Père Lachaise Cemetery.
