Stanisław Lem (* 12. September 1921 in Lviv; † 27. March 2006 in Kraków) was a polish science fiction author, philosopher and futurologist, studied medical doctor. He was 84 years old. He was married to Barbara Lem. His education included Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University and Jagiellonian University. His faith was atheism. He received 10 awards, including Order of the White Eagle (Third Polish Republic), Golden Medal for Merit to Culture. He was buried at Salwator Cemetery.
