Biography of Tadeusz Banachiewicz

Tadeusz Banachiewicz (* 13. February 1882 in Warsaw; † 17. November 1954 in Kraków) was a polnischer Astronom, Mathematiker und Geodät. He was 72 years old. His education included Imperial University of Warsaw, University of Göttingen, Pulkovo Observatory and Warsaw 5th Gymnasium. He worked at University of Tartu, Jagiellonian University, Engelhardt Observatory and Astronomical Observatory of the Jagiellonian University. He received 6 awards, including honorary doctor of the University of Warsaw, honorary doctor of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. He was buried at Crypt of Merit at Skałka.
