Biography of Tove Jansson

Tove Jansson (* 9. August 1914 in Helsingborg; † 27. June 2001 in Helsinki) was a finnish children's writer and illustrator. She was 86 years old. Her education included Academy of Fine Arts of Helsinki, Konstfack and Läroverket för gossar och flickor. She received 10 awards, including Selma Lagerlöf Prize, Order of the Smile. Her cause of death was lung cancer. She was buried at Hietaniemi cemetery.
