Biography of Wassili Pawlowitsch Aksjonow

Vasily Aksyonov (* 20. August 1932 in Kazan; † 6. July 2009 in Moscow) was a soviet-American writer. He was 76 years old. He studied at First Pavlov State Medical University of St. Petersburg. His awards include Russian Booker Prize, Commandeur des Arts et des Lettres‎ and Medal "In Commemoration of the 1000th Anniversary of Kazan". His cause of death was cardiovascular disease. He was buried at Vagankovo Cemetery.
