Yitzhak Arad (* 11. November 1926 in Švenčionys; † 6. May 2021) was an israeli historian, retired IDF brigadier general and a former Soviet partisan who has served as director of Yad Vashem from 1972 to 1993. He was 94 years old. He studied at Tel Aviv University. He was awarded the honorary doctor of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. He was buried at Einat.
