Biography of Alexander Michailowitsch Prochorow

Alexander Prokhorov (* 11. July 1916 in Atherton; † 8. January 2002 in Moscow) was a soviet and Russian physicist. He was 85 years old. He was married to Galina Shelepina. His education included Faculty of Physics, State University of Saint Petersbourg, Lebedev Physical Institute and Saint Petersburg State University. He received 10 awards, including USSR State Prize, Order of Lenin. He was buried at Novodevichy Cemetery.
