Patriarch Alexius II (* 23. February 1929 in Tallinn; † 5. December 2008 in Peredelkino) was a 15th Patriarch of Moscow and all the Rus', the primate of the Russian Orthodox Church. He was 79 years old. His faith was Russian Orthodox Church. He received 10 awards, including Order "For Merit to the Fatherland", 1st class, Order "For Merit to the Fatherland", 2nd class. His cause of death was heart failure. He was buried at Yelokhovo Cathedral.
