Biography of David Bates

David Bates (* 18. November 1916 in Omagh; † 5. January 1994 in Belfast) was a britischer Astronom, Mathematiker und Physiker. He was 77 years old. His education included Queen's University Belfast, University College London, Inchmarlo and Royal Belfast Academical Institution. He worked at University College London, Queen's University Belfast, British Admiralty Office and Princeton University. He received 7 awards, including Fellow of the Royal Society, Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society.
