Ernst Benda (* 15. January 1925 in Berlin; † 2. March 2009 in Karlsruhe) was a deutscher Jurist, Politiker (CDU), MdA, MdB und Präsident des Bundesverfassungsgerichts. He was 84 years old. His education included Freie Universität Berlin, University of Wisconsin–Madison, Frederick William University Berlin and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. He worked at University of Freiburg and Trier University. His faith was Protestantism. He received 4 awards, including Heinz Herbert Karry Award, Grand Cross 1st class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
