Biography of Friedrich Carl von Savigny

Friedrich Carl von Savigny (* 21. February 1779 in Frankfurt; † 25. October 1861 in Berlin) was a jurist, preußischer Rechtsgelehrter und Rechtshistoriker. He was 82 years old. He was married to Kunigunde von Savigny. He had at least 3 children (2 sons and 1 daughter). His education included University of Marburg, Friedrich Schiller University Jena and Leipzig University. He worked at University of Marburg, University of Berlin and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. His awards include Pour le Mérite for Sciences and Arts order, Order of the Black Eagle and Bavarian Maximilian Order for Science and Art.
