Biography of George Gamow

George Gamow (* 4. March 1904 in Odesa; † 19. August 1968 in Boulder) was a russisch-amerikanischer Physiker und Schriftsteller. He was 64 years old. He was married to Barbara Perkins Gamow. He had at least 1 child (1 son). His education included Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of the Saint Petersburg University, Odesa University and Saint Petersburg State University. He worked at University of California, Berkeley, George Washington University, University of Copenhagen Niels Bohr Institute, V.G. Khlopin Radium Institute, University of Colorado Boulder and Ioffe Institute. His faith was atheism. His awards include Kalinga Prize and Fellow of the American Physical Society. He was buried at Colorado.
