Biography of Harold Jeffreys

Harold Jeffreys (* 22. April 1891 in Fatfield; † 18. March 1989 in Cambridge) was a britischer Mathematiker, Statistiker, Geophysiker und Astronom. He was 97 years old. He was married to Bertha Swirles. His education included Durham University, St John's College, Newcastle University and University of Cambridge. He worked at University of Cambridge, Cavendish Laboratory and Met Office. He received 10 awards, including Copley Medal, Royal Medal. He was buried at Church of St Helen.
