John Hunter (* 13. February 1728 in East Kilbride; † 16. October 1793 in London) was a schottischer Anatom und Begründer der wissenschaftlichen Chirurgie. He was 65 years old. He was married to Anne Hunter. His education included St George's, University of London and Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. He worked at University of London. His awards include Fellow of the Royal Society, Copley Medal and Croonian Medal and Lecture. His cause of death was myocardial infarction. He was buried at Westminster Abbey.
