John Mortimer (* 21. April 1923 in Hampstead; † 16. January 2009 in Turville) was a british barrister, dramatist, screenwriter and author. He was 85 years old. He was married to Penelope Mortimer. His education included Brasenose College, Harrow School and Dragon School. His awards include Commander of the Order of the British Empire, Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and Knight Bachelor. He was buried at Oxford Crematorium.
