Kurt Masur (* 18. July 1927 in Brzeg; † 19. December 2015 in Greenwich) was a german conductor. He was 88 years old. He was married to Irmgard Kaul and Tomoko Sakurai. He studied at University of Music and Theatre Leipzig. He received 10 awards, including Knight of the Legion of Honour, Leo-Baeck-Medal. His cause of death was Parkinson's disease. He was buried at Leipzig South Cemetery.
