Leszek Kołakowski (* 23. October 1927 in Radom; † 17. July 2009 in Oxford) was a philosopher, historian of ideas. He was 81 years old. His education included University of Łódź and University of Warsaw. He received 10 awards, including Order of the White Eagle, Erasmus Prize. He was buried at Powązki Military Cemetery.
