Biography of Paul Tillich

Paul Tillich (* 20. August 1886 in Starosiedle; † 22. October 1965 in Chicago) was a deutscher protestantischer Theologe (Dogmatiker) und Religionsphilosoph. He was 79 years old. He was married to Hannah Tillich. His education included Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, University of Tübingen, University of Wrocław, Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and Friedrich-Wilhelms-Gymnasium. He worked at Harvard University, Goethe University Frankfurt, Frederick William University Berlin, Union Theological Seminary, University of Chicago and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. His faith was Christianity. He received 5 awards, including Knight Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, Peace Prize of the German Publishers' and Booksellers' Association. He was buried at New Harmony.
