Ralf Dahrendorf (* 1. May 1929 in Hamburg; † 17. June 2009 in Cologne) was a german-British sociologist, politician. He was 80 years old. He was married to Ellen Dahrendorf. His education included University of Hamburg, London School of Economics and Political Science and Saarland University. He received 10 awards, including Pour le Mérite for Sciences and Arts order, Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Leopold II. His cause of death was cancer. He was buried at Ohlsdorf Cemetery.
