Biography of Simon Newcomb

Simon Newcomb (* 12. March 1835 in Nova Scotia; † 11. July 1909 in Washington, D.C.) was an astronom und Mathematiker. He was 74 years old. He was married to Mary Caroline Newcomb. He had at least 1 child (1 daughter). He studied at Harvard University. He worked at Johns Hopkins University, American Ephemeris and Nautical Almanac and United States Naval Observatory. He received 8 awards, including Knight of the Legion of Honour, Copley Medal. His cause of death was cancer. He was buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
