Valery Shumakov (* 9. November 1931 in Moscow; † 27. January 2008 in Moscow) was a russian surgeon and transplantologist. He was 76 years old. He studied at I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. He worked at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. He received 10 awards, including USSR State Prize, Order of Lenin. His cause of death was heart failure. He was buried at Novodevichy Cemetery.
