Biography of Vilhelm Bjerknes

Vilhelm Bjerknes (* 14. March 1862 in Christiania; † 9. April 1951 in Oslo) was a norwegischer Physiker und Meteorologe. He was 89 years old. He had at least 3 children (3 sons). He studied at University of Oslo. He worked at Leipzig University, Stockholm University, Carnegie Institution for Science, University of Oslo and University of Bergen, Geophysical Institute. He received 9 awards, including Fridtjof Nansen Award of Excellence, Mathematics-Natural sciences class, Gunnerus Medal. He was buried at Vår Frelsers gravlund.
