William H. Gass (* 30. July 1924 in Fargo; † 6. December 2017 in University City) was an american fiction writer, critic, philosophy professor. He was 93 years old. His education included Ohio Wesleyan University, Cornell University and Kenyon College. He received 7 awards, including Guggenheim Fellowship, PEN/Diamonstein-Spielvogel Award for the Art of the Essay. His cause of death was heart failure.
