Wladimir Afanassjewitsch Obrutschew (* 28. September 1863 in Rzhev; † 19. June 1956 in Zvenigorod) was a sowjetischer Geologe, Geograph und Schriftsteller. He was 92 years old. He had at least 2 children (2 sons). He studied at Saint Petersburg Mining Institute. He worked at Saint Petersburg State University, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Tavrida National V.I. Vernadsky University, Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Tomsk Polytechnic University and Obruchev Permafrost Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences. He received 9 awards, including State Stalin Prize, 1st degree, Order of Lenin. He was buried at Novodevichy Cemetery.
