Wubbo Ockels (* 28. March 1946 in Almelo; † 18. May 2014 in Antoni van Leeuwenhoekziekenhuis) was a dutch physicist and astronaut. He was 68 years old. He studied at University of Groningen. His awards include Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and Officer of the Order of Orange-Nassau. His cause of death was renal cell carcinoma.
