Biography of Michael James Lighthill

Michael James Lighthill (* 23. January 1924 in Paris; † 17. July 1998 in Sark) was a britischer Professor für angewandte Mathematik. He was 74 years old. His education included Trinity College, University of Cambridge, Byron House School and Winchester College. He worked at Victoria University of Manchester, Imperial College London, University of Cambridge, University College London, National Physical Laboratory and Royal Aircraft Establishment. He received 9 awards, including Fellow of the Royal Society, Royal Society Bakerian Medal. He was buried at East Finchley Cemetery.
