Biography of George Gabriel Stokes

George Gabriel Stokes (* 13. August 1819 in County Sligo; † 1. February 1903 in Cambridge) was an irischer Mathematiker und Physiker. He was 83 years old. He was married to Mary Susanna Stokes. His education included Pembroke College and City of Bristol College. He worked at University of Cambridge and Royal School of Mines. His faith was Anglicanism. He received 7 awards, including Fellow of the Royal Society, Copley Medal. He was buried at Mill Road Cemetery.
